Fried Chicken
Golden, crisp, and seasoned all the way through.
Shorty'sSouthern KitchenSee the menuRuffin roots. Sunday table soul.
A Ruffin-rooted meat-and-three with crispy fried chicken, slow-cooked Sunday favorites, garden sides, and something sweet at the end. Made with time, care, and room at the table.

Where it started
Before it was Ruffin, they called this little patch of Rockingham County Stubblefield. The railroad came through, but the place kept its rural rhythm: gardens, strawberries, church tables, and neighbors showing up for neighbors.
Our family comes from that tradition. Shorty Simpson's brings its Sunday table forward with familiar recipes, full plates, and hospitality that tells you to stay awhile.
"Cook it slow. Season it right. Make enough for company."
